"Hey Big Baby!"

I was so excited to welcome Ryan to Korea for nearly a month long visit. We quickly learned that living in a one-room apartment for that time was not going to be easy, but we managed to make it work! These photos were taken at the Boryeong Mud Festival, after we showered. The morning activities included running a very unexpected 5k, mud soccer, and watching a few silly people wrestle. We decided to stay clean in the afternoon and avoid the long lines formed outside of each mud station. We returned to Seoul the next day each with a gold medal and a sun burn.

Fortunately, I had summer break off from school during Ryan's last week in Korea. Jeju Island, the vacation spot for Koreans, was one of the last destinations on my list of places to see. So, Ryan and I traveled by plane, followed by a bus, first to a coastal town called Seogwipo. We stayed for four days and then headed up to the city for the last two.

Our adventures were remarkable and the weather hot, but at least it wasn't raining.

Before we left for Jeju, the rain came down in Seoul for hours, everyday. With each short break in the downfall, we made it out on the town to check out the sights. Some of the flooding swept away riverside buildings and
boathouses.

Embarrassing photo booth pictures and
greasy chicken and potatoes! Always necessary during vacation. Can you guess which one Ryan liked more?

Exercising in the park across from my apartment.

And then our time together in Korea came to an end. For me, I am counting down from 17 more teaching days and a few more weekends to explore. I look forward to my next travels beginning on September 1st when I visit Malaysia, Cambodia, and Bali. And my boss just handed me my ticket to the states for September 17th!
