Since arriving in Korea and beginning work at the ARIS private school, our director has been fired and our head consultant quit. Although Julie was the source of som
e troublesome issues, she was there with me and the other teachers through some good and bad times(most of which I have simply been told about). We celebrated Julie's time with us last night at a nearby restaurant and just after sitting I realized that there was going to be a lot of drinking going on. Scott, the new director, came in about an hour later from a "meeting". In Korea this word means drinking and smoking and drinking more. Scott, a man that doesn't normally talk, had plenty to say this time. He also dragged me into doing a "love shot" with him. Keep your thoughts straight, he's my boss, he's married with kids, and he's Korean. There will be no lovin away from taking a harmless shot with the man. Harmless for me, a little more damaging to his state of mind.
